Laminate remains a strong option when you want broad colour choice, practical everyday performance and a much lower replacement barrier than many premium surfaces. It also suits targeted refresh projects where the existing cabinets are staying.
Installation matters
The weak point in a laminate benchtop is rarely the decorative face — it is poor site detailing. Sink and cooktop cut-outs, raw edges, joins and moisture-prone areas need to be handled correctly for the specific product.

- Properly prepared and tightened joins.
- Sealing around exposed substrate.
- Support over appliance and cabinet spans.
- Suitable clearances around heat-generating appliances.
