Which one suits your kitchen?
If you want the lowest-fuss site installation and a wide colour range, MÖLLEKULLA and SÄLJAN are usually the more forgiving choice. If you want a genuine timber look and are comfortable with visible end grain at cut edges (or want it oiled to a strong finish), KARLBY is the standout — just budget for slightly more careful, and typically slower, site work. EKBACKEN is worth checking against your layout if it includes cut-outs near the edge of a section, since the substrate leaves less room for error.
Joins and cut-outs by range
All four ranges can generally be joined and cut for standard sink and cooktop openings, but KARLBY's timber construction means exposed cut faces need a matching oil finish rather than just a sealed laminate edge — factor a little more time into the install for this.
